Thanks for taking the time to work on rotary engine conversions for aircraft,
I, like you, believe it is the best engine out there for the job.  I have
a Wittman Tailwind W8 with an O200.  When the engine needs overhauled Id
like to have a rotary to go in it.  It seems like the Masda's may be to
heavy wet for the application,  what are your thoughts?

Yes it is too heavy for a direct replacement for the 100 HP O-200 but recently
somebody has joined the news letter that is quite reasonable when it comes to
making NC milled aluminum parts. His name is Jeff Doddridge.

We have been kicking around a design for a relatively low cost front and
rear rotor housing made from aluminum which would yield a 125 HP Mazda based
one rotor engine competitive in weight to the 100 HP O-200.

Richard Sohn is also working on an aluminum version of a one rotor Mazda.
