Well, I caved in and bought the Alibre $99 special. Imported the last 2
drawings posted, the end plate in STP and motor mount plate in IGS no
problem. I'll see how long it takes to learn how to be productive. The
training package was another $99. Ok Paul, I can handle anything ya got! ;-D

Who is using the parasolid format(.x_t), and what are its advantages? Asking
because conversion utility is another $100 from Alibre.

Solid Works uses that. We use it indirectly when we design a part that
needs to be made in an NC machine.

Well, after installing and registering the Alibre package on my tower and
laptop without any problems in about 15 min per seat, I went all in and
added the translate + 1 yr support/upgrade.
A $600 total investment, but it all works, now it's up to me. I don't think
I'll regret it.
