I'm almost finished with my third and final cowl, if you don't count the
one I made out of fiberglass. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. Two
of the photos are recent, the one with the black spinner is the previous
cowl, taken last July. The panels for the lower part of the cowl have been
wheeled out and are ready for riveting, which should take about 2 hours.
The engine has been run about 2 1/2 hours, it sounds great, but could use a
little more tuning around the staging point.
The last items to be done are: finish the cooling air scoop and exit
flap, build the engine air induction system, and install my transponder. I hope
to be pretty much ready for an inspection by Thanksgiving.
