What is the design and construction on the Mistral ??  How quiet is it ?  Neil.

I don't know how quiet it is.
We usually take a db reading 30 feet off to the side of the airplane.
In most cases it is around 100 db. Worst I have seen is 109 db.
A lot of that is just prop noise.

Of course which Mistral muffler as they have used several.

There are some youtube videos of the Mistral airplane flying with sound. Log on to youtube and search for "UTUBPLEASE" and then make sure you look at all the UTUBPLEASE videos.

As I recall at least one was made with Inconel.

Don't try to copy this in anything but Inconel because things tend to melt inside a rotary muffler and plug the exit.
