Would it be reasonable to route a tube from the vent port at the neck of
the oil fill to the intake manifold since the engine needs oil anyway,
or is that a bad idea?

That might be OK for awhile. On the other hand it could gum up the apex
seal slots which is  obviously  not a good thing. Crankcase oil is not
the best for apex seal lube. Two cycle oil burns much cleaner without
residue. I would use an air oil separator and route the output back into
the oil pan. Overboard makes a mess on the bottom of your fuselage and
could reduce the engine oil supply on long flights.

When routing oil back into the oil pan, a check valve is a must to
prevent back pressure pushing oil out of the crankcase.
