Hi Paul-

Downloaded and installed the data acquisition software from
http://www.hytekautomation.com/iDAQDownload.html

It appears to have installed correctly -- I don't have the acquisition
module here to plug in, so I won't know for sure until I get out to the
hangar.

Speaking of the site above - I can't find a data acquisition product that
looks like the one you left here.  If I ended up at the wrong site &
downloaded the wrong software left me know.  But I seem to remember the
capture board is home brewed by you in order to get the pressure sensors
mounted on it.  So maybe it's not supposed to look like theirs.

Are there setting changes I need to make to the software before trying to
capture?  Other than setting it to 2000 samples per minute.

I presume you want me to get 'good' manifold pressure from the oil injector
ports, not from the taps on the intakes.

[P-port] Engine is running happy as a clam.  Terry got it into track mode and - while
it still stumblers a bit during rapid acceleration - the MAP data during
tracking was all spot on.  It did not get into a MAP location which had the
wrong values as had been hypothesized.  So we're going to live with it for
now; it will need some more knowledgeable trouble-shooting.  Terry is
content & at this point we're waiting for good weather between Xmas and New
Years to try for first flight again.

Take samples at 2000 times a second in the higher RPM ranges of 6000 to 7500 every couple of hundred RPM or as fast as you can go. Thats it. Don't forget to tie down the tail wheel :) Sample  the pressure taps in the intake manifold while running the engine on the pressure taps in the rotor housings as you are now doing. Send me the raw data.

I don't think Tracy accommodates rapid acceleration as that would require a throttle position sensor and he was against them. It may also be sensed by rapid samples on the intake manifold pressure but that too would require a change in his software. I don't think he is up for that :) Just tell Terry to move the throttle slowly.

BTW you should buy some new rotor housing pressure taps as those I kludged up out of 10 mm bolts are not secure enough. If the hose comes off in-flight you are in deep trouble.
