DOS will work fine

I think you can choose another letter like Z for lastdrive. When I
was at school the network was protected (back in the 80286 days,
when I still ran a 8088) and lots of drives were not accessible.
However I used the shell of TurboPascal to get onto the LAN without
being seen as a user with all its restrictions. I found several
drives at the end of the alphabet and even a drive called ^: Indeed
not a letter but one of the other ascii characters.

Get the usbaspi.sys , di1000dd.sys and usbce.sys files in your
system directory. That might help.

The Cypress USB Stack driver for DOS
(http://www.pocketec.net/downloads/duse_4_4.zip). In FreeDOS
(kernel.sys 2032a and command.com 0.82 pl 2) it raises a kernel
panic. In DOS 7.x (from Windows 9x) its seems to load correctly, but
afterwards any access to drives raises a can't read error.

In various newsgroups it is suggested that it will only work if you
can boot from USB mass storage. Pity, because it would be nice to
have read/write access to storage sticks on a DOS rescue system.

I am really close to getting this working.

The USB Hytek Automation DAQ is not recognized as a hard disk
so I need something looking for a USB serial device.

We are all ready leading the world in high speed intake
manifold pressure wave data acq. The sky is the limit on
this tech. I need the direct hardware access that DOS
provides and quasi real time.
