Hello Paul,

6 year ago, is started building a glasair 3. Initially planning an Innodyn turboprop, i found out at osh 2005 how far behind they still were, and discovered Mistral engines.
It took quite some research to convince me, but here I am now, with the first production standard G-300 on my engine mount.
I have included some pictures.

Mistral has been very helpfull so far, and the aircraft is getting close to being finished. Wiring is 95 % complete, painting and cooling are still to be done.
Chabord is making the exhaust as per mistral standard; external muffler, big and ugly, but I guess still the best way to go.

I cut the original cowling up, as the G-300 is an couple of inches longer, and i elarged the air intake holes to 170cm² each. the planning was to install one cooler on each side of the engine, but Mistral changed the exhaust collector, and as you can see, there is not a lot of space left on the L/H side.
about cooling. I've been breaking my brain about the best solution, and your web site has been VERY helpfull, but in a very important project like this, why not try and ask the man himself.

what would you suggest ?
do you know of builders in similar projects that could provide useful info ?
A big thank you for any info or ideas,

I recommend a large area, thin core rad, vertically
mounted on the cool side of the engine with the
air exiting the side of the cowl and with movable
cooling louvers to control the engine temperature
and cruising drag.
