snips............
To remove the difficult brass oil injectors you might try a 50/50
ATF-acetone mix. Wish I had known this many broken bolts ago.

I forgot to mention that new oil inlets such as #2 (in particular) in
the engine pictures above have very little meat on Rx7 13B's. Plenty on
12A's. Haven't done the mod on RX8s. RX7 13B's required a bottoming
tap to get enough usable threads.

What do you think of using that 50/50 acetone ATF mixture on
stuck apex seals?
snips...
BTW Cary your PC clock is off. If the battery is dead you can
set the clock from time to time in Windows I think.

Regarding the ATF "trick" to decarbonize rotors and unstick seals. I
have heard/read of revived 0 compression and seized engines..
IIRC, a few people have also said they had oil/coolant failures shortly
after decarbonizing engines with good compression.
I haven't heard of anyone actually putting orings in a solution to
measure the effects against a control. (sorta scientific like)
I don't think I would try it on a decently running engine until the
effects are known.
I would just rev it up regularly...6k a day keeps the rebuild away...
If you already have a seized engine or 0 compression faces and don't
want to rebuild, I would try some other light oils first.
Old PC clock drift corrected.

Traditionally we use ATF alone for unsticking apex seals.
If you use Teflon O-rings I don't think acetone effects them.
Your clock is now one day ahead :)
