Is anybody interested in buying some RX8 mufflers.
 It will look something like this but better workmanship

 I could also make a kit if you can weld.

 The stock RX8 exhaust header can not be turned around.
 It comes out on the wrong end for a tractor.

Great! I've been hoping someone would start making
components for the RX8. Would this be a true muffler with a
baffle configuration inside? I would be very
interested in one for my 6 port Renesis depending on
cost. Could you please post some more info on this.

PS: Would be great if someone would offer a bolt on intake
as well for the RX8 for some of us that don't want to go
with a P-port.

No baffles inside. Every piece of metal will be exposed to
the air on one side for cooling purposes. Any time you put
some baffles inside you risk melting the baffles and
restricting the flow causing a loss of power.

While on the topic of mufflers, is the "cooling tube" that runs through the main
chamber a necessity? Has it been documented to have a beneficial effect?

No not tested for noise reduction. It is done on theory alone.

I will say they have been tested with out the center tube and the 13 B's are a
bit too noisy with 2 inch down pipes. I figure I will reduce the down pipe to
1.5 inches. The RX8 engine is another matter as it is quieter to begin with due
to the side exhaust ports.

Paul,

Are you still planning on supplying mufflers for the RX8? If so do you have
any idea when and a estimate on the cost? My 6 port Renesis is mounted on a
engine mount supplied by Conversion Concepts, is that a problem? See
attached photo's.

Yes but it won't fit that motor mount. It was designed
for Jeff's motor plate.

The heat from the RX8 exhaust will affect
those rubber bushings. They are only good to 200 F.
I would do something like this 3D to get the heat away from
the rubber bushings. Make it out of .090 304 SS sheet.
Shield the bushings with thin 304 SS and put a blast tube on
them.

Don't kill the messenger :)

BTW Bob, don't use those 2004 RX8 oil injectors.
That 2004 engine will expire sooner rather than later.
Take those out and plug the holes or use the holes
for pressure taps. Mix 2 ounces per gallon of
two cycle oil with the fuel.
