That would be news to me.
The check valve is in the screw in oil nozzle.
That is what makes it unworkable for monitoring the
intake system pressure for EFI use.

Thanks, there is some kind of brass fitting inside the Oil
metering hole but I don't think it obstructs flow... It
has a slot like it screws into the hole but when I tried
to unscrew it but it wouldn't budge.  I'll try to get a
picture tonight if I can zoom in that close.  Wonder if
it was for directing a spray pattern?

I think it is just a Jet and another way for Mazda to control
the amount of oil getting to the apex seals.
The pressure taps work fine with it in there.
I would leave them in.
