Paul, could you please render a new version of the CH-640 mount(based on the
ch-801, but with a lower rear attach from oil pan rear over the nose gear
strut), utilizing the Doddridge plate, Tracey Cook RD1-C, rear lower oil pan
vibration stabilizer, etc. (basically all the features of the final version
you sent) but move the plate and engine out 6" further from the fire wall to
accommodate for the use of the RB light weight center and end plates? I
spoke with Mathieu Heinz when I picked up the wings in Canada, discussed the
implications of the lighter weight installation, and his recommendation was
to move everything out 6".
Also could you make notes for me as to the basic raw construction materials
used, like different tubing sizes, IE diameter and wall thickness.
I have both Q-Cad and Alibre now, so I should be able to read the cad dwgs
directly.

Is this the one?

I tried to access some firewall part pictures from this site but apparently
the pictures don't show up in my browser.
Could you get these pictures and send then to me?
Paul Lamar
To question one, yes, that looks like it with the Schertz beam.
To question 2, could you send me the links to the pages where the drawings
are, and I can get the rest done for you. I'll put together everything I
have as well. I took some fresh pictures when I was in factory, 2 640 quick
builds were in process for shipment to Europe. I'll get back with you later
in the week you're your information.
Mathieu assured me (right from the
horse's mouth) that 801 and 640 thrust lines and firewalls are identical
except top center point mount.
C. Smith
OK no problem. They look entirely different than the pictures on the web site.
I was able to get this pdf but there are no dimensions. No problem if it
is identical to the 801.
---------------------------------------
OK I got the 801 firewall pdf off the web site and they are definitely
different.
Have them send you a dwg with the dimensions of the 601 fire wall outline
and hard points.
From the looks of these pdf s the 601 is a better design.
Paul Lamar
The 601 is not the 640. I am building a CH-640. it has the same
firewall as the CH-801. Do not use any information for the 601.
It is an entirely different aircraft. Please re-read my first paragraph.
Here are some drawings I could get right away. there are one
or 2 more floating around my documents folders, I just have
to chase them down, don't remember their titles. I will also
scan the prints from my plans book when I get home.
C. Smith
They have more variations than little liver pills.
This weight and balance pdf of the O-320 installation is
the best Zenair dwg I have seen so far.
Do you want me to go on this weight and balance pdf?
Do you have the fuselage kit yet?
