Anybody have Light Sport engine prop flange dimensions?
People are having cracking problems with Warp Drive
prop hubs. Only some hub designs are affected.
Here is my idea of what a Warp drive
7075T6 billet prop hub should look like. This is for a SAE 2
prop flange. You might talk Jeff into making a hub.
Warp Drive blades are cheap
at around $175 each but my guess a 2 blade would
be limited to 150 HP. However they weigh only
2 pounds. This hub weighs another 5.2 pounds.
Blade length is 32 inches so over all diameter
with this hub would be about 68 inches.
IMHO the big problem with the Warp Drive
blades for 200 mph is the lack of appreciably twist.
One might fix that by adding metal flaps near the hub.
That would also absorb more HP. A cheap fix.
Probably also improve the cooling.
Bill Eslick uses a 3 bladed version on his rotary powered RV6.

Warp Drive requires one blade for each 50 hp of engine drive. They were
VERY upset when I put the 4 blade instead of a 5 blade on the 12a gyroplane.
(219 hp at 7500 rpm)... but allowed the purchase anyway.

It is pretty good for low speed thrust. The flap would increase
the HP consumption. The carbon blade is strong enough to just use
a bunch of 6-32 screws and bolt a thin SS steel flap on the first 25% of
the blade.
