Woohoo!!
Jump out at 12,500 ft; pull the chute at 5000.
Al Gietzen
Why would anybody want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?:)
For the new guys Al is flying a beautiful 3 rotor powered
home built Velocity.

Re; the 'perfectly good airplane' question that someone posted...
Back when I was flying divers [10+yrs ago] we once had a controller
mutter that very comment under her breath while giving clearance
to climb into class B. My coworker beat me to the punch [he was
in the second C182 following me up] when he replied... 'lady,
you should come see our airplanes'.. they certainly weren't
pretty, but there were well maintained. I always get a smile
when ever I hear someone exclaim about jumping out of a perfectly
good airplane, most of the jumpers we flew claimed they had the
safer ride down. The few who had the misfortune of having to come
back down w/ me, SWORE they had the safer ride down <chuckle.
I've got a few jumps under my belt and will do it again some day,
it will just be a few years until the little ones have left the nest.
Until then I can dream :)
Enjoy!

My wife did the same thing for her birthday some years back.
She absolutely loved it. I got a chuckle reading Jarrets remarks.
The plane my wife went up in fell into that catagory. The interior
had been stripped of everything but the pilots seat, the panel only
had the minimum required instruments for VFR, with the addition of
an attitude indicator, many gaping holes. It certainly had some hours
on it. I'm guessing she was as happy just getting out the door as she
was with the jump itself.
Heh.

One way to convince people to jump :)
