We attempted a first flight last Saturday, we called it off for
several reasons, none of which included the airplane itself,
other than some problems with the microphone jack. We had three
back up handhelds  and none of them worked in a satisfactory
manner.  I arranged to have my tailwheel instructor do the
honors, but there just happened to be an airshow going on at
Paine Field, and the ceiling was too low. We took the plane out
for some taxi tests, it ran fine, and it was the first time I
have witnessed the plane running from the outside. It sure is
QUIET. My brother took some really high quality video, some of
it showing myself and another person in conversation 5 feet in
front of the camera,  we are about 35 feet from the plane while
it is running at idle. You can plainly hear our conversation. We
ran it for at least 1/2 hour, doing taxi tests and ground
maneuvering. the temperature outside was 60 degrees, and the
water and oil temps only
 reached 160 once.

My brother is going to put the video on youtube, so I'll put a
link on the newsletter as soon as it is up. Although it didn't
fly, I have every confidence that it will soon, and will pretty
much be a non-event.

could have reached this level of success with them.
