It is not that I am actually going to use the computer or the O.S..
It is just there to read in data from a device and convert
the data to ASCII. It will then go on a USB stick
and into my real Linux computer to be processed by
open office spread sheet.

Then I'd just look on craigslist for a working laptop for $100 (or
even free area) and use it.
I found 2 for $80 and too many to count asking for $150 or OBO.

Geeks is a local company. If I have a problem they
will fix it. Also I am very familiar with the Asus
EeePC solid state hard drive. Unlike a real
hard drive that spins they will work in a light
plane at 18,000 feet.

Super light weight and 8 hours of battery life. They
are also state of the art using Atom processors.
