In my opinion fuels pumps belong in the fuel tank,
either the mains or collecting header tank.

Which means in my plane that a 'high-pressure' line will be running through
the cabin (RV-6) instead of a suction line. Not sure I really like that...

The point is that you could run a thick steel line through
the cabin area. If you break that you have other problems.

Most all cars run FI now. All have instantaneous fuel cut off
switches that activate in case of a crash.....or am I missing
something?...sure, they can fail (closed shut-off position-I believe they
are electric solenoids) and run you out of fuel, but how often does that
happen in cars (I do know of one case where my buddy couldn't get his car
started and it turned out to be this device mounted under the car in the
fuel line!). In any case, these devices might not let your fuel flow during
acrobatics.....not sure (roll overs). But they do exist and can be used
"carefully".
