" I admit:

Since my childhood I am crazy about sports cars.

Continuous consumption of car magazines since age 10 is a clear symptom.

Some people think I am infected with a virus, others insist it is
hereditary.



My dream has always been to drive a special individual car.

Through my passion for Lotus since the last two decades the Lotus Elan 26R
has always been my favourite.

An extremely light variation of the Lotus Elan, which, one might say, pulled
some teeth from the Cobras at the time.



Meanwhile only few car lovers remember the Lotus Elan, however Mazda was
successful to revive the design and concept with the Mx-5 (NA).



When I saw in December 2005 the first Mx-5 of the third generation (NC) I
noticed several alterations compared to the first generation that are an
?evolution? similar as shown by Lotus in the development of the Elan 26R
(racing) from the Elan 26.



The only thing I did not like was the power output of the NC. A usual
2-Liter 4-cylinder of 160 HP. There is something better on the Mazda
shelf... and an idea was born.



The Hansa 23R. An NC with the legendary Wankel engine in its actual form,
known form the Mazda RX-8.



With the support of the Realizer-Racing-Team a partner was found quickly:
Rotary Motorsport



11 month later, December 2006, the 23R celebrates its world debut at the
motor show Essen (in Germany).
