That looks greeat, Our initial energy will be focused on the housing
stresses and bearing embossments.
We have employed a Stanford Chemist thats been making Epoxy for 35
years he's going to formulate what we will need
for the housing. Some of the samples we looked at today where jaw
dropping, Stuff that's being used in the space shuttle WoW!!!! There
is so much technology that we don't even have a clue about.

Agree about the technology. When cubic $$ are not much issue wonderful
things happen.
I did also consider carbon fiber for the case and didn't want to "do the
math". I will be interested to see what you come up with. Also did a
recalc on the steel case and realized I forgot to take off some wall
thickness on the large dia tube, resulting in almost 2 pounds - giving
a case weight of less than 8 pounds. Getting closer but still far from
what I expect you will come up with.
For your epoxy please make sure it is compatible with ester based
(synthetic) oils as well as petroleum base oils.

I'm glad you mentioned that about the oils, I was so caught up in strength
numbers I forgot to ask about that.
I'm sure the chemist has a product that will fit what we need and if he doesn't
he can make one

Here is the weight of Tacy's housing? You will be lucky to
get 4 pounds out of it. I could make it out of .5 inch wall
Al alloy tubing one piece 6 inch OD 4" long and one piece 4" OD 6" long
which would weigh 6.7 pounds. Tracy's housing is now 8.5 pounds.
That gets 1.8 pounds out of it.
Now tell me what this carbon fiber housing is going weigh and cost? :)
