Paul,
I just received the RX8 coil from Advanced Auto Parts.I did not
believe
that I was going to receive them since I read that a lot of people
tried
to purchase them online but were told that this item can not be
ordered
online.I went to Advanced Auto Parts web site and ordered 4
coils.I was
surprised that the order went through without a problem. However,I
thought that I will never receive them instead I will get an
email of
apology for a web site error. But to my surprise I received them
today
and they are the right coils. The box states Intermotor part
#E1001.The
funny thing is that I live in a US territory in the Pacific called
Saipan and Advance Auto Parts has to ship them thousands of
miles away
from the mainland US.By the way the cost was $24.00 per coil
and $12.14
for priority mail shipping for 4 coils. What a deal.

Someone needs to tell the people that answer the Advanced Auto
Parts
web site phone :) I have an RX8 coil heat sink for you. I'll
come up with a place to mount it in the firewall forward package.

Actually somebody has to tell the people that maintain the web
site at
Advance Auto Parts, cause I understood from the emails that I
read that
most of the problems they encountered were ordering through the
web
site.At any rate if you want the coils I be glad to order them
for you.
Michael
Hi Michael,
I would like to order some coils, if thats OK.
Did you notice that they have triggers as well.
Cheers Chris in NZ
I tried to order these coils again, and it still won't let me
place an
online order. I think it has to do with geography. Anyways, I'll
have to
go to the store myself.

Hey C,
I don't know where you are but here in Newport News, VA I
have four of
them in my online shopping cart for $135.96 delivered to my
door.

I hope this helps.

I just tried the above purchase link and the available stock is
"2".
Guess we have to wait.
Ed Carver
I can still get them for you here in Rochester if you want them.
Someone else on this list also offered to get them as well.
The quantity listed on their site may always remain "2"...the
website stock count is triggered by your location...and the
stores in your area. For example, when I link to that same page
that was forwarded in the email, I get "1".
And I ALWAYS got a "1"...even before and after I ordered and
received 8 of them...twice!
In this case, you have to CALL your local store, and ask them to
special order them for you. And usually talk to the manager, as
the regular clerk who may answer may not know how to do it. The
first one I talked to said it couldn't be done...however, the
manager has done it twice for me now. They will have them for you
in less than 24 hours, but you must go to the store to pick them up.
If you don't have a local store, let someone like me know, who
CAN get them for you. The cost of delivery to the store is free,
and only the cost of shipping to you will be extra...when I
shipped them from here in New York to Paul in CA, the shipping
was less than $6.
So you may wait forever to see that number change from "2" ...it
hasn't changed from "1" here in Rochester for several months now.
If you want some coils, just ask! I'll be glad to order them and
ship them for you...for the same price as the web store
advertises. Plus shipping (no handling).

Just go to the web site and fill in the quantity you want. Then click
on the yellow [Add To Cart] button. Then go to the check out page and
pay your dues. They should arrive on your doorstep in a few days.
I've attached a screen shot to help clarify.
Mark LaPierre
It does not work for everyone. Have tried clicking the add to cart button as
hard as I can. There are some geographic differences with how the carts are
handled. I have the same page showing as you do.
