Paul I went online and looked at the Siemens injectors.The specs on some
of these look great.Can you tell me which model will fit the
manifold.Thanks.

I don't have the catalog but the physical size I think are all the
same. The main issue is getting enough flow for full power.
The flow is given in pounds per hour. 60 pounds per hour
is about 9.6 gallons per hour for each injector at 43.5 psi.
Total would be 38.4 gallons an hour. At 350 HP a rotary
would be sucking down about .6 pounds per hour per HP.
So .6 times 350 is 210 pounds per hour. Fuel weighs
6.25 pounds per gallon so that is 33.6 gallons an hour.
These injectors would work fine. Of course you are
not going to need 350 HP. I think you will get
about 200 HP maximum at 85,000 turbo RPM and with the
waste gate open at sea level. Hopefully you will also get
that at 12,000 feet with the waste gate closed. I see you have
a slick little vacuum/boost gage which will tell the whole story.

The injectors are pulse width modulated so that is how
the computer controls the flow. This Paul Yaw flow chart
assume the injection is timed to the intake opening IMHO and
that is why it is limited to 9 ms. I suspect Tracy's is not
timed injection so there is no real limit on how long an
injector can be open. It could be open 20 ms and off
2 ms or vice versa. On 2 ms and off 20.

for $159 including flow matching or are they too much.Ya I really like
to monitor the cooling pressure it tells a lot than just the temp.

I thought you were going to use that for boost and manifold pressure.
It is good you have it for the cooling water pressure but you could
use another
one just like it for manifold pressure.

Paul,

Injectors are already ordered.I am using that gauge for monitoring the
cooling system.The EFIS that I am going to install on the plane will be
monitoring the manifold pressure.

I like steam gages. If one goes out no big deal.
If your efis goes out you are in serious doo doo :)
Most are hard to read in bright sunlight not to mention
high priced. The work of installing the sensors is
the same. Not only all that few to none are set up
for the rotary. For example no water cooling.
Also some lack oil temperature. There are several unique
parameters we need when monitoring the rotary.

Nice things to have is temperature into and out of
the oil cooler. Same for the water cooling system.

Think about it carefully before you jump.

You are absolutely right,I am not going to depend 100% on the EFIS.I
will install steam gauges for vital and needed functions,i.e,magnetic
compass,air speed indicator,coolant temp.(in and out),coolant
pressure,oil temp(in and out),and whatever else is needed.I am basically
using the EFIS as horizon,heading,turn indicator and so on,also as a
back up system for the engine monitoring gauges.The reason I am using
EFIS is because it comes integrated with the GPS so I might as well use
it as a back up.

Yes I'll buy that. The old mechanical horizons are rather unreliable
as the vac pump goes out. If you start smelling burning phenolic
you can kiss your horizon good by. I used an $89 hand held GPS
to find my way all over the outback. Those the the electronic
functions that shine.
