Have you been following the Norton NRV500/700 motorcycle news.
They ran
173mph at Bonneville in 2010 with this engine.

I can't seem to find any specs on the engine anywhere.

This link may help. At the very bottom there is a little scoop
about the
Norton.
One chamber has 588 cc as the name implies. A larger 700 cc
chamber size
is being planned.

Did you mean to state that the 588 was a 2-rotor? According to the
link, the 588 is a 2-rotor.

"Norton has used a Wankel engine in several models including the
F1, F1 Sports, RC588, RCW588, NRS588, most notably Steve Hislop
riding to various victories on Norton's F1 in the TT in 1992.
*Norton now makes a 588cc twin-rotor model called the NRV588* and
is in the process of making a 700cc version called the NRV700."

The Norton Rotary has 588 cc displacement per chamber. That compares
to 654 cc in the Mazda's, RX3 to RX8, they all have the same
   displacement
per chamber.

Norton started out with a single rotor and later build two rotor
versions of the same basic design with 588 cc chamber size. The new
NRV588 and NRV700 with 700 cc displacement per chamber are twin
versions, as per the company statements.

In other words the 588 is not far from the 654 Mazda is using.
Perhaps for smaller hp needs a Norton 588 single could be used.
Likely that would be simpler than reducing the Mazda to a single
rotor version. Even the twin might be suitable for aircraft use.
Paul probably has more insight into that.

The RX2 and RX3 engines were 1146 or 573 per chamber. The RX4, Cosmo
and later
engines; 654 per chamber. Early RX7's had 12A and then 13B engines.
The 12A is
closer to the Norton. What is the rotor radius, eccentricity, "a" and
rotor
width? Almost all the Mazda engines shared dimensions except the
rotor width.

Norton bike rotaries are 588 and 700 ccm total displacement, not per
chamber. All including early air-cooled versions were 2-rotor. The new
motor would be very pricey alone, even if it does become available, as
production numbers will be very small for now. Being most motorcycles
are of unit construction, that is motor, primary drive, and
   transmission
sharing same castings splitting components may be a problem. I know
where there sits a '90's F-1 sport bike version, but plastic would have
to come off to find out. I see nothing but problems. Mazda motors are
dime-a-dozen respectively.

   BMW R1100Gs with Suzuki front suspension. 250 Hp makes it a apparent
