I invented this 10 years ago.
I finally got it welded up by Do Rite Fabrication in Ventura.
It combines the turbo intake manifold with the inter cooler.
The idea is to reduce the pressure drop when the traditional
inter cooler plumbing is used. In that case the turbo is
connected to the inter cooler with round tube and the output
from the inter cooler is connected to the turbo manifold again
with round tube.
In this case the output from the inter cooler is fed directly
into the engine intake runners. This streamlines the plumbing interior
and reduces the pressure drops so there is more boost
for a given turbine back pressure. This should improve the BSFC
slightly.
Every little bit helps. IMHO BMW copied me for the turbo
Mini on this :) I know some engineer from BMW is/was on here.
The slide throttle also helps to reduce the pressure drops.
With a larger turbo and larger pipe from the turbo to the inter cooler
a lot more HP would be available but we don't need 400 HP
in this application :). I'll be happy with 250 at 12,000 feet.

Would your teflon slide throttle work here, or have you got another
slide
throttle product to handle the heat??

I am using a cut down (one hole) version of the stock teflon slide.

The Subaru WRX intercooler operates similarly. I may pick one of
those up for my installation.
