Guys,

Lastly, I'm wondering how hot it is at Oshkosh. I'm not real good at
dealing with heat but I would like to camp out if possible. Would like
to be able to visit late and early instead of staying in town and
taking
the bus. This I need to know asap so I can get a room before all gone
if the bedroll is a no go.

I won't bother you all with long emails again but just wanted to say
hello and keep up the good and interesting work. I'm going to get
involved.

I 've been going to OSH every year. I can answer your question on how
hot it is in OSH ...I think it is hot, but I live up north where I
consider anything above 80F as hot.

Typical days at OSH are in the high 80s, mornings are typically
beautiful.
I usually go through the gates before 7 AM and thoroughly enjoy myself
until about 11AM, Around noon I start avoiding the hangars and start
looking for breezy shady places. One year it stayed cool all week, was
quite cool and beautiful for several days straight. Nights are usually
pleasant. Right now as I look out my window in N Wisconsin, it is
snowing, so maybe this year will be a cool one.

Thanks for reply, Robin. I'm from Wyoming so anything over 65 starts to
get warm. I could use a bedroll if temp not over 80 at nite. Wouldn't
like it but could do it. If hotter than 80 at nite, I'd need a room.
What do you think?

Go for it. I've never heard anyone at OSH complain much about not
sleeping at night because it was too hot. I've noticed that most all the
trailers and motorhomes have AC though. My OSH travel partner the last
few years died in his sleep about a month ago, so I might find myself
sleeping in the back of my Ram 2500. Hope it cools off back there at
night too.

I bunked out in a tent last year. Because of earlier heavy rain the
OSH Camp Scholler campground was very soggy. The moisture in the air
with no breeze at night was worse than the heat during the day. One
evening a squall line with heavy winds, rain, and light hail swept thru
knocking down tents and shelters not well staked. Kept my motorcycle
helmet close by in case hail became a serious issue! The chance of
finding a room to rent at this date may be not be good either. Bedroll
under the stars may, or may not work. I counted maybe three trees in the
campground so daytime shade there pretty much non-existent.

There are showers and a camp store near the campground also. All the
food I need available there, that is beer, brats, and charcoal for
cooking. :)

I can always get a room in Green Bay. Cheap too.
However that was before gas was $4 a gallon.

Also plan for a few mosquitoes. Last year was very nice (cool) after
rains ended. 5? years ago it was hot, hot, hot, finally cooling
to low 80's at night (only hot year in the 7 I have been going). As we
say in WI, if you don't like the weather, stick around for awhile,
it'tl change :) Ok climate change believers - WATUP this year?
