Is anyone using Megasquirt to control fuel and ignition?

   Any words of wisdom?

   I am getting close to looking for a fuel injection ignition solution
   and the
   555 is not there yet.  I cannot use the CAS unit and will need a trigger
   wheel based system.

   Paul, what injectors fit the holders that you are currently
   providing?  You
   do mention the RX8 yellow injectors are there others that fit?

   I was looking for a defined path for setting up a MS system with decent
   backup but it looks like a lot of research is in the cards.

No real programming necessary with Megasquirt. You just have to download
the software from the MS site and find a program for rotary engines to
get you started. Lots of options, read through the site and learn about it.

I have a datalogger setup with accelerometer, sold by DIYautotune.com,
the only authorized eBay Megasquirt vendor. It plugs into the MS box and
displays in real time all of the engine data on an easy to understand
interface on a laptop.

You can use a megasquirt 1 easily for aircraft, and use a wideband
lambda sensor to tune it all. I use megasquirt 2 for cars, and see
little reason to upgrade to megasquirt 3 just to have sequential
injection, although the price is'nt that much more. Very easy to tune.
It would be cost effective to use two megasquirt 1 ecu's for redundancy.

Seriously, you don't need to program anything. The interface is already
setup in the MegaTune software. You really just need to read read read,
for a couple three days, all of the basics on the site.

I believe I read there, that the original programming is done in
assembler language.
