instead of taking it off why not try a Moroso Water Outlet Restrictor
and they are cheap!!! like 7 or 8 bucks also you can make them or

You want to increase water flow in an aircraft engine and not restrict
it.
Same goes for an electric water pump.
The water pump in a rotary consumes only 3 HP.
Don't use an electric pump in an aircraft engine.

The guy that built the Endurance used 2 electric water pumps with speed
controls on them.

Todd Bartrim. His plane got me interested in all things rotary, that and
I used to drive a RX3 30 or so years ago. He built a long range RV 9

One can do a lot of stupid things to the rotary and get away
with it if you live in the northern climes. If you over heat
the metal in the rotor housing the engine will not necessarily stop
running right away but your rotor housings will be damaged.

The restrictor on the block outlet is a band-aid for a marginal cooling
system.  It's function is to raise the pressure by the water pump within
the block to give a few degrees more to the boiling point of the water
based coolant.  The notion that slowing the coolant flow rate help cooling
is persistant nonsense.  Has anyone tried NPG+ in their Wankels?  No water,
370 degree B.P. no need for pressure cap.  http://www.evanscooling.com/
It is required in Rotax four strokes.
