A while ago you send us a link of the installation of stator rotor
assembly between a mazda 13b engine and flywheel/damper plate a psru
This gentlemen made a full report with all details for the parts from
Harley Davidson as required and the installation .
Do you have any report from him about the testing .
For my point of view i would more rely on stator then a second battery
and the weight between second battery and stator should be close.
He supply all dimensions and step by step for machining and lot of
photos which can be helpfull for someone want to go this way.

Many part will work. Harley's are rather pricey.
Out board motor parts can be used and the advantage is
the built in capacitor discharge ignition.
A lot like a mag as the engine will still run
regardless of a dead battery. It just takes someone
to make the flywheel holding the magnets.
If you want the simplest and probably the most reliable ignition system
get a two cycle two cylinder small outboard ignition system.
Fires the same number of times and 180 degrees apart just like a 2 rotor.
As close as you will come to a A/C magneto.

Some of these stators are as low as $20 used.
The high voltage coils supply 300 volts for a simple CD system
and the other coils may supply enough 12 volt current for avionics
systems. No belts. If the main electrical system or alternator
fails the engine still runs.
This stuff is mass produced in the millions and extremely reliable.

I believe Jean was referring to an actual permanent magnet
alternator.. Not
just for the ignition, but to run the electrical system, to include a
fuel pump.
It's likely practical to get 20A from such a system. And you would no
longer be
at the mercy of battery maintenance to keep the engine running.

You have that in outboards. Alternator and ignition. Boats need
electricity as
well :) You have depth sounders, fish finders, lights and radios.
Come to think of it might be possible to modify a conventional belt
driven
alternator so it puts out 300 volts for CD ignition as well as
supplying 12
volts. Now there is an idea a car company can use.

I think i found the right stator and flywheel ,it is for a 2 cycle 2
cylinder Honda motorcycle,the flywheel does not need much modifications
and the unit it seems pretty small and with the schematic included you
can check if this one can be use with rotary.
Do the stator have to be located to a specific location on back plate i
am talking about the coil pick up??
I locate one unit on Ebay and i will buy it after your comments

I appears to be a waste spark system but I could be wrong.
You don't want to use a waste spark on the trailing (top) plug
but it is OK for the leading (lower plug. You will have to
come up with another system for the top plugs. The engine will generate
90% power on the lower plugs alone.
Also the current output could be marginal. Does it say how much
current the alternator part puts out? You might ask that question
of the vender.
Could be OK for a back up alternator and ignition.
Worth a try.
You could use it with a second belt driven alternator, 2 hall effect
sensors and 2 RX8 coils for the top plugs.
