Paul
I received the honda 400 stator whith the flywheel and it look very
promissing to adapt to the rotary engine as secondary ignition system.
After checking it the stator itself weight 2lbs and the flywheel 6 lbs
but can be rduced about 2 lbs by removing the backplate and the middle
hub.
To install to the flywheel aluminum plate we have to reuse the rivets
holes.
The middle hub look to be rivet to the back plate and then the back
plate to
the flywheel.
I figure out the flywheel hole should clear the Tracy hub attachement
unless
reinstall behind the aluminum plate
It have is own pick up magnet switch and the magnet shown outside the
flywheel
I am sending you somes photos in 3 e-mails with a rule to show the
dimention
By the way it cost me $60.00 deliverd fom EBAY but i am sure you can by
new
from the dealer

Just attach jpgs to your eamil.
Works fine with earthlink
You get what you pay for :)
Paul
I will try to send by 3 photos

That worked fine Jean but you must cut the resolution on your camera when
you are taking pictures for email. Max picture size should less than 1
meg.
1500 pixels wide or so.
Here are the pictures you sent after I cut them down.
These picture filled my email box on earthlink so I had to fix that.
Others may have gotten bounced email earlier today.

Jean,
If you flop the automatic transmission flywheel over you can put the stator
plate and flywheel there. The problem is you will have to turn a short
extension shaft to accommodate the fly wheel and that's marginal load wise
for the reduction unit.
The better solution perhaps, is to mount it on the front end of the engine
underneath the pulley(reverse the pulley with a short shaft to maintain belt
spacing). This would assist in timing the ignition because the regular RX8
timing is right there as well.
What is the alternator capacity(amps) for this setup? We(Aero Kinetics, Inc)
may have a requirement for such an arrangement. Milo
