 I do not see Mazda dropping the rotary engine just yet. They likely
will drop
the RX8 and introduce a new model. I think if they put a rotor in the
Shinarai
with a smaller rotor on the front and two rotor 16X that starts for
acceleration and hills as Paul describes with a turbo compound on the
small
engine would sell. Sharp looks, fuel economy and power with Mazda's
handling.
Can not see that going wrong.

Hi  Paul,
               I know nothing about rotarys except as you have said,
there is not a hand granade rattling inside just waiting for the pin to
fall out!!! I do not know how guys can machine somethings with the
latest CNC equipment, but, it seems to me it would be a piece of cake to
have a rotary made similar to a Mazda, it seems to me that it would be a
lot easier than making a V8 alloy block and cylinder heads, valves,
crankshaft, ect., ect., ect.. Looking at the beautiful job they make of
those blocks and heads. There is very little in a rotary to make,
compared to a piston engine.
