Hi,

 Does anybody know how many aircrafts are flying with a 13B rotary
 engine?

 I know the list of rotary builders but I only count 11.

 I don't really know. I keep hearing about another one about
 once a month I did not know about. My guess is about 100 Mazda based
world
 wide.  Some start flying and some stop flying.

 That does not count of course the  over 700  Alexander-Schleicher
 50 HP one rotor motor glider engines sold by Austro Engines.

 Nor does it count UAV rotary engines manufactured by several companies.

 We have about 1000 people on this list although I have not counted
 recently.

 Many flying are not on this list.

and I have not updated it in over a year.  There have been a few
additions
since then.

Kevin,     I think Tracy Crook has sold over 350 of his PSRU drives.
Being that build times are so long this measures projects ready for an
engine more than the number flying. It does also demonstrate the number of
builders confident enough to put the money into a rotary.

There is a Mustang II with rotary engine in McKinney, TX. owned by Bob
Rogers. The following EAA web site tells the story:

Have not seen this one on any of the lists nor do I know if it is still
flying. Worth looking into though. The Mustang II with tapered and folding
wing will out-perform an RV-7. See: Mustangaero.com

I've recently started compiling a list of flying rotary a/c.  The Mustang II
that you mentioned is on my list.  I've posted the list to FlyRotary
recently, so you may be able to search the archives and find it.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to it here at the office, so
can't provide an actual count until I get home from work tonight.  My guess
is about 50 +/-, but that only includes those that we know about.
