The RX 8 engine cannot pass present EU smog rules.  Imagine a three rotors, p-port turbo charged. My understanding is that next Mazda-Wankel would use DI to pass these and next UE smog rules (level 6) while improving torque at low revs and diminishing fuel and oil consumption. To be confirmed.
