Just a couple of questions regarding the sliding throttle, has anybody
fitted this to a street vehicle 13BPP and if yes what adjustments will you
need to make regarding the intake track etc. to get the correct power at
the
correct rpm and the air filter ?

As I was looking at fitting this to my race car.

Lots of people have used slide throttles with street vehicles.
The 13B P-exhaust port engines run rather badly at low
speeds but a p-port RX8 engine with side exhaust should
run pretty good.

The tuning depends on what class or race you are running.

Will be using it for track racing guess at low speed/rpm there will be
stumble then rev up ? Was looking at 86-88 13B maybe throttle body will work
better ?

I assume this is an oval track.

When you say slide throttle I assume your are talking
about a p-port engine.

What is the slowest speed on the track and what is
the highest speed? Chose a gear gives you near
10,000  RPM at the highest speed.
Then figure the RPM at the lowest speed.

Lets say top speed is 100 MPH at 10,000 RPM
and 5000 RPM at 50 MPH you are then better
off with a P-port. If you can shift then set
the ratios so 10,000 RPM is 75 MPH
and 7500 at 50 MPH and you will go quicker.


It is all in the gearing. You want to stay
close to 10,000 RPM all of the time.
