Dear Paul and Others,

I am in the process of building a Pietenpol aircraft and, as such, am a
member of a Pietenpol Forum of builders. A member recently posted the
attached pictures and asked if anyone could ID the engine. Can you help?
Is it a rotary engine? I am not sure if he is interested in putting a
rotary engine on a Pietenpol, but he asked. I know that the Pietenpol
may have the distinction of having had more choices of powerplants  than
any other aircraft. Over 30 different engines have been documented. Do
you know of any builders that hung a rotary engine on a Pietenpol? I
would be interested to know and will, of course, pass the information
along to the other Pietenpol builders. Thanks in advance for any
information provided.

Looks like a seven cylinder liquid cooled radial.

Perhaps 2 cycle. Could be sleeve valve.

A one rotor would make a great Pietenpol engine.
