Ed,

While you are over at the PYP see if you can find
a mechanical transmission input shaft on it with
a gear that is at least 1.5 inches in diameter.

That would work with a clutch disk as an input shaft
with the gear machined down and pinned to the sun gear.

The length is important. Chevy or Ford would be the most
common and perhaps the cheapest.
