Paul I was wondering if you had a p-38 type intake and you're
radiators in back by firewall and some type of powered extraction nose
cone.
would this be something worth doing and has any body tried this(postive in
negtive out)?

I'm still at stick figures in the drawing department. what I mean is the
lower part of you're intake would be sealed as it makes the turn and goes
thur your radiators and in the engine compartment you could then have some
kind of turbine air extractor built in the nose cone
to power exhaust the air in the engine compartment.

Cliff,
Are you talking about extracting energy from the airflow that goes through
the cooling system?
If so, then any type of turbine placed in that airstream will create more
restriction and turbulence, (not a good thing) decreasing cooling
efficiency. Do you have Paul's book on cooling the rotary?
By spending a lot of time designing and testing, a well designed cooling
system will produce little or no cooling drag. That is a huge advantage for
water cooled engine aircraft.
Less drag equals less hp consumed for a given speed.

No I'm not. I'm talking about decreasing the cooling drag and improving the
cooling efficiency
hopefully with out costing all that much in hp power, on the order of a
power steering pump?
