I attended a local EAA poker run (for a/c and cars).  It was a gorgeous day
in Central Texas.  The local Cobra club showed up to represent the "car
guys".  Thought you would enjoy this picture.  By the way, my PPort 20B
Lancair was the fastest of the bunch.  ;-)

your aircraft the more I think your PPort 20B Lancair is fast becoming my

My former favorite civilian aircraft was the Beechcraft Staggerwing, I was
cheering on the Griffon Lionheart a Kit Plane,

this kit concept, but wanted a Wankel Rotary Engine in it.  I think that
plane's aerodynamics would have been greatly improved with less frontal
surface.  You get alot of aircraft, useful load, six passengers for the
buck.  Imagine the cost factor reduction adapting the Mistral 360hp Turbo
to this kit, or with a 20B Mazda Rotary engine even better cost factor. If
only they had made it fully aerobatic, fun ride for six people.

GF,

There are at least two other rotary powered Lancair a/c that I know about,
one is a Lancair Legacy and the other is a Lancair ES running a turbo-20B.
The ES is the first picture on Paul's web site.  There are other pics of
his FWF further down the page.

I too really liked the Griffon Lionheart kit.  A beautiful and timely
design.  The funny thing about my choice of kits is that I first chose the
engine, then picked an airframe to put it in.  Actually, I had my eye on a
Lancair Legacy kit, but the wife wanted 4 seats, so we went with the ES.
Turns out it was a great choice for a low time pilot.  Like someone once
said about the Cub, "it is a great plane, it can just barely kill you."
