How about a 690 HP p-port 4 rotor?

Yup, that would do it all right. The Government Motors engine
might be a bit more torquey though for street operation. How would
the four rotor engine length be compared to the LS3? No problem
installing in the Beemer as you remove the I6. They tell me the
LS takes 50 pounds off the front end as it is all aluminum and
shorter than the I6 engine that has a cast Fe block, so it actually
handles better.

It is about the same as LS1.
Max torque is 442 ft pounds at 6200 RPM. Do you want to tow or

Well Dale, I have a llittle bigger aspirations, than that government
engine. And as far as the T56 goes, that's old school now. I just
sold the viper version i had. I wanna PDK 7DT doppelkupplung,
based on the original twin clutch used in the 962C. Should be able
to get one soon from a crashed panamera. It'z amazing how some
monied folks love to crash their porsche. Just another fact of the
civilized world.
4 rotors are too much, gotta make em think they can actually beat
ya; so a built 3 rotor turbo should be sufficient when coupled
with a 7DT in the back seat of a 2200lb 914 porsche. And BMW?

I now consider myself a reformed engine enthusiast. Thanks to
Paul, and the rest of y'all. So long to the ford/chevy
controversy. Never owned a government car in my life. As long as
we throw the bumdeal president out of office next Nov., we should
all be able to expand developing these rotary things out to their
true potential.
Governmental tyranny will soon be extinct.

How is the length of the 20B compared to the original boxer 4?
Might be a bit tight. A little grease on a shoe horn has been used
before :-)). Even a 13B turbo p-port would be a rocket. 914 6 would
take the 20B no problem due to a longer back for the Porsche lawn
mower.
Used Beemer 3's are reasonable in price. One fellow in Calgary
has a fordor that beats blower Mustangs regularly. They go to the
Porch track days and lap faster.

Now I wanna fly fast and high. The cozyIV should do it for me.
I just started cutting the 4130 plate for the damper. Should have it
all cut tomorrow. Then I'll create some sort of jig for the welding
part. I plan on using the original flywheel and rolling the edge of
the 4130 like the original where it meets up with the ring gear.

I believe a 20b is a little shorter than the air cooled 911 engines that
are used in the 914. We'll see though.

Got the damper parts largely cut today. Don't think I can roll the edge of
the 4130 plate. It's too tough at .095 thickness. Gonna try cutting a
notch
in the ring gear for it. The 1.25" holes were easy to cut with a hole saw.

I am interested to build 4 rotor but I need to figure out what is needed.
Is there anyone that managed to do one ?

No dims but you can get a pretty good idea of how it works.
Here too is a way of putting in plain oil pressure fed a center main
bearing.

Roderick, You gan get four rotor shafts from Austrailia and New
Zealand.. Try "pineapple racing.com."
They use 20B wide intermediate housings which are rare. Someone is making
aluminum 20B wide housings with two piece construction. The shaft is
about $3800 and the used 20B housings are $1200 each in usable condition.
I went a different route and designed a full set of aluminum housings
based on RX-8 rotating assemblies and rotor housings. I will atttach the
patterns for joining the two two rotor engines by using extended doweled
flanges on the end housings and a shaft coupeling between the two RX-8
E-shafts. Hopefully I can locate a foundry that casts 398 aluminum, but if
not then 390 which also has the silicon carbide wear surface nodules in the
alloy so that no wear surface treatments will be needed. In the end I did
12 housings which will allow 1 thru 6 rotors, parallel cooling, inverted
oil, and dry sump.
Also attached is an exploded view of a PSRU design I am currently CNC
routing patterns for. It is based on the Borg_Warner 4407 planetary with
2.62 ratio. I have been letting the CNC run while I am working on the
airframe and have the full set of engine patterns cut and just starting
the PSRU patterns. The shop has gotten so jammed up that this winter I may
build a post curing shed and move the fuselage moulds and a few other
cumbersome things out there. I designed the engine and PSRU in order to get
Rhino to calculate the weight of the parts. The timken bearings, seals and
other hardware weights were in the catalog. I have now misplaced the list
but it came out to 467 pounds firewall forward.
Seems like a lot but a 50 pound battery and 52 pound constant speed prop
and cooling for 425 HP account for a lot of it.

I like the way CW did it better than the kludged up Mazda 4 rotor.
This had parallel cooling and a one piece simple e-shaft.
The main bearing configuration was copied from the Offenhauser.
BTW the blown offy held the world record for HP per cubic inch
for awhile. No silly tension bolts.
"Other variants of the offy engine produced up to 3 hp per cubic inch (137 kW/L).
Another reason for the engine's success was reliability; unit construction
(no separate cylinder head) meant the engine was not vulnerable to head
gasket or cylinder stud problems and allowed for higher cylinder pressures."
"Before turbo boost limits, over 1,000 bhp (750 kW) could be attained using
around 120 in Hg (44.3 psi (3.05 bar)) boost."
