I solvent tested the welds and no leaks. Pressure test coming later. The
weld area directly next to the alum tube shrank 0.005" on each side but
effects only about 1/4 inch. This particular housing has pitting where the
oring lands on at the bottom exhaust expansion area. The other one has
pitting near the intake port oring land. Maybe I need to have these grooved
for orings to use them with rx8 housings or the gsle version. I used a
torch to melt the exhaust port sonic damper, then ground it smooth. The
stuff is stainless.

Many of the p ported race housings I have seen have very pronounced
tapering onto the steel liner, and are usually square where they open into
the housing. The alum tube I used is 2.250"od, and 2.06"id.

Do you know if the 84/85 rx7 bell housings used on the 12a will bolt up to
the 13b? And how about the starter arrangement for the same? I can get a
couple 12a auto trans bell on the cheap.

Did you check the rotary housing for warping or shrinkage?
