I think you have a choice of desktop under Ubuntu. To go back to the
old Ubuntu look and feel, try the instructions in this link:

Thanks Henry. I'll buy a few more disk and give it a try.
I have given up on the switcher in Fedora 13.
The switcher in Ubun 10.04 works fine.
