Our stupid government just gave away 1.35 million dollars of your
hard earned tax money to a foreign company that glued two... one
place sail planes together, added a battery and electric motor and
flew less than 100 MPH for less than 200 miles.

It then lands and burns a lot of coal to recharge the battery in
eight hours.

If this AH gets reelected there is going to be revolution.

I read that. Bad thing about it was that the University of PA had an
entry that by all measures was better. Are you ready for it? They
couldn't compete because the school insurance company wouldn't cover
the school if something went wrong. So the school, and no other us
entry presented a plane. We lost because of our lawyers suing
everybody every chance they get.

The AOPA had an article about it.

Can you provide me some kind of link to this info about the U. of PA's
plane and not being able to complete because of insurance?  Couldn't
find anything about them through google.
