  Paul,

Hooray, I finally understand the Obama energy policy! It's
simple. When he says "All of the above" he means "None of the
below". "Above" includes only wind and solar and solar, of
course, covers anything which requires light to grow thereby
including most synthetic fuels. These fuels do not generate
any CO2 overall because any CO2 generated by burning them will
quickly be absorbed by growing plants somewhere. Simple
recycling. "Below" covers anything which must be drilled or
mined in some fashion. See, isn't that simple?

  Fred O.

Simple yes effective no :) Paul Lamar

  Paul,

I was really surprised that I wasn't taken to the woodshed
regarding the above "recycling" but then I did say it was
Obama's policy. Actually, due to my education here on your
site I fully understand that it takes a lot of energy to
acquire biomass and convert it to biofuel. Unless the entire
process is solar powered (wind is solar) there will be a large
amount of CO2 generated in excess of that generated by burning
  the biofuel.

  Fred O.

But who cares? We need the CO2 to grow more food. The doomsday
scenario for excess CO2 and global warming is left wing propaganda
pure and simple and they know it. It is all about political power.
If they can convince you we will all die from CO2 just give them the
political power and they will fix it. Sure! Just like Hitler fixed
the economy of Germany in the early 1930's.

A few years ago a company; Syntech, had a division for power. They used
Capstone micro turbines that spun magnets in a stator. One system was
installed to power grow lights in a green house to grow tomatoes. The
 engine
burned natural gas and the exhaust was ducted into the green house. The
software for the system powered down the engine during the day and
 restarted
when light levels were below that required. The tomatoes grew like they
 were
hydroponic or better. Size more like grapefruit. I think this got lost when
Enerflex (a compressor packager) bought out Syntech. Re sold now to Tarpon
 Electric and Instrumentation.

The dutch used piped in CO2 to the green houses to enhance the growth of
 flowers for
sale to most of Europe. That is where the term "green house gases" came
 from.

BTW CO2 is only a trace gas in the atmosphere. It is measured down in the
 parts per
 million.

You may correct me if I am wrong, I think it went like this: The
mouthpiece EPA was trying to legislate fuel consumption to the Auto
industry that caused an uproar by saying that is not possible.

Then as a countermeasure, instead of dictating what goes in, the approach
was changed to dictating to what comes out of the engine. Since the product
is essentially CO2 and H2O CO2 was chosen to be limited. In order to be
plausible it was declared a pollutant which it is not. We all and even the
EPA knows that, except the population at large with the help of the IPCC
and other opportunists like Al Gore.

Nature would not have a basic and fundamental building stone to be a
pollutant and harmful.
