Paul, I have a courious question.
If I plug the secondary intakes ports and power off the injectors to those
intakes,
will the engine run fine with only the primary intakes ports and primary
injectors?
I believe it will not deliver all its potential power but could probably run
at 2 to
3 thou rpm.......just wondering.
Because if this is true, I will make my engine run on primary only at idle
and
taxing. This will probably save some fuel in the long run....
I appreciate your comment. Thanks.
Ramon
I doubt you will notice the fuel savings. The fuel burned during taxi is
very little
compared to the hours of flying at 150 HP and up. The complication will not
be worth it.
A big problems with side port engines is there are no off the shelf side
port
manifolds suitable for aircraft use. You might be very disappointed in the
power if
you cobble one up. The best thing to do is a p-port as that is guarantied to
give you
250 HP. You don't have to use it all if you don't want but the manifold is
cheap and
light weight. You can still use two injectors per rotor and turn one off
below 3,000 RPM.

Jeff is already set up for doing this at low cost. See the attached jpg's.
It will
save you time and money in the long run.

If you use Tracy's EC-x controller, it only uses the primary injectors until
above a threshold RPM, then it stages to use primary and secondary.

Thanks for mentioning that Bill. I knew it but I failed to point it out.
BTW What part of the country are you in now? If you get out this way you could stop in.
