Redcliffe isn,t far south from here. Charleville flooded this year,
that small creek was 25kms wide at one stage, being so flat the
water spreads out and moves very slowly. The 747 at the Qantas
aviation museum in Longreach has sunk into the wet soggy ground a
 foot or so.

The Liberal/National Party one primarily because the people were
sick of the Labor partys incompetence. During the drought they
built a desalination plant, massive cost over runs, problems with
commissioning and was finished just in time for the floods. It now
sits dormant and will probably need refitting before it gets
cranked up again. They also decided to build a dam on the river
that flows through Maryborough (the Mary river home of the Mary
river lung fish and Mary river turtle, both unique and endangered)
to the Great Sandy Straits marine park, to bolster the city's
supply, robbing our farmers of irrigation water along the way.

They FORCIBLY bought out the dairy
farmers that provided their milk, and spent millions more on
initial infrastructure all prior to federal approval. The Feds rightly
canned it, now the derelict farms still stand empty and all that
money wasted, tax $. They sold our rail, Built billion dollar road
tunnels no-one uses. Meanwhile the major highway turns from a 6/8 lane
motorway in the major population centres around Brisbane, to a 2
lane goat track that floods over as soon as a cloud appears, everywhere
 else in the State.

The new bloke was an Engineer in the army and
former Brisbane Mayor, so I'm hoping he will bring a more practical
approach. Don't start me on the Federal Labor party, They're due
for removal in 18 months. But that's a story for later. You don't
have a monopoly on idiotic governance, unfortunately, it appears there's
 enough for everyone.
 Graeme Riley.

 Sounds exactly like California.
The left attacks free western predominately English speaking
nations because they easily get filthy rich from doing so.
America's democrat party is the party of the super wealthy leftist,
and the very poor voter slaves. Slaves because they are bought off with
welfare bread and other gratuities in exchange for votes.

Are they buying out the dairies to lower cow farts? I have heard
the auzzie enviro radicals moan about bovine "evil green house
'gas' producers" on local radio here. They are unfortunately deadly
 serious.

The oral arguments of the "not so" supreme court regarding the
survival of obama care took place today and it sounds like the "not
so" blind supreme court scale is going to tilt toward free
 enterprise this time.

I have the great fortune of being presented with comments from some
of the worlds greatest minds on local KRLA radio here in Los
Angeles. Today law professor Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of UC Irvine
school of law, and law professor John Eastman exchanged arguments
regarding important statements made today by the supreme court justices.

Professors Chemerinsky, and Eastman are regular guests on Hugh Hewitt's
show on KRLA. Erwin is on the political left, and John on the
right. This week they join Hugh 3 out of 5 days because of the
import of this weeks high court events. I do not know of a better
way to become familiar with what is going on with this issue than
to tune in to Hugh's show. So I am suggesting to all of you to tune
these guys in live at 3pm pacific. Hugh will usually replay the exchange
between the two later in the program. www.hughhewitt.com/blog

Your children and grand children are also being attacked by gay activists

in both the house and the senate with an attempt at the passing of
two bills; H.R. 998 and S. 555. The intent is to do nation wide
what has already been done here in California, as referenced in my above
 comments.
This is part of the new so called "hate crime" legislation intended
to force all of us to accept open public gay sensuality in schools
and every place else. Your daughter will not be allowed to tell a
gay girl classmate to bug out without risking a law suit against
you as parent or herself as college classmate.

 Ed Carver

Forget the gay stuff. The connotation they wish to exude ruins a
really good adjective and word. They are homosexual. That term in
and of itself is not bashing. There are too many people around
these days that have no skin let alone thin. I think it is
criminal that they can promote their ethics, but the silent
majority are muzzled. I do not care what goes on in their bedroom
and I do not think anyone cares what goes on in mine. The
heterosexual majority has no interest in parading down main street
in their underwear, and I have no interest in anyone else doing
that either. There are laws about indecency in public. When is
somebody going to have the balls to enforce that?

 Dale Davies

 Don't get me goin Dale;)
I went to college in the silicon valley (what a quire place that is)
and presently live a few miles from hollywierd in the porn capitol
 of the world
(the San Fernando valley). I am much closer to it than you would probably
want to tolerate; it makes my skin crawl when I pause to think
 about it.

Oddly enough, churches and synagogues thrive here too. So at least
one day out of the week you can step out of the normal paths you
usually share with the afore mentioned sociopaths, and mix with
 truly transcendent sane people.

 Ed Carver

Thanks for the link, I'm not really up on the US system, It seems
that we have different definitions. For example the new Qld
Liberal/National coalition government is looking to revoke the
homosexual civil union Law put in by previous Gov.
 We basically have 4 parties.

Labour, for the people by the people,
looks at the working man, the large market.Borrows money and try's to
buy their vote by tweaking tax's and laws to suit the common man.
Basically tries to appeal to the low to average "aware" person.

LNP appeals to business, shores up companies and creates wealth, pays
down national dept. and relies on trickle down to look after the
 common man.

The untargeted person is the one that runs their own small business.
They are the ones that see through the b/s and have their employees
ear to "educate". About 50% are in this group as employer or employee
or self funded retiree. The max vote can only be 75%/25% either way
because pensioners and "dole bluggers" like labour, and big business
 like LNP.

When the worker gets gready they vote Labor, When they stuff
everything up, the weight swings the other way and the real business
people get to run the country as a business not a cash cow for the ah
 underachievers.

Dynamic equilibrium at work. It does seem to stop narcasists taking
control for too long, I like to think that one good attribute ozzies
have is the ability to see through bullshitters, we're so good at b/s
ourselves we can smell someone else's a mile-off.

We also have two methods of removing leaders from power during their
term, I'll keep that one for another time.

 Graeme Riley.

Here in Canuck land we have basically three parties. Liberals, which have
screwed things up with their pacifist leaning. New Democratic Party which
 is
socialist. Any province that has elected the DP's ends up heading the
bankruptcy. Similar to your Labor Party. Then we have conservatives.
 Business
interest leaning. We have a division in Alberta of the conservatives called
Wild Rose. The Progressive Conservative people have been in power for 40+
years and it is time to rock the boat. On the federal front there is the
 Party
Quebe'cios who are for Quebec separating from Canada. Still would like to
 use
our benefits such as the dollar. Delusional clowns.

As an Australian that has lived in the US for 55 years and visited
Australia only several times since I left in 1957, I have learned more about
Australian politics from Graeme than any other source. With Paul's pictures of
central Australia and Charleville, I have a new vision of Australia. The dole
bluggers are called LOW INFORMATION VOTERS in the US. Peter

   Paul,
I wonder if the reason Coca-Cola is buying up all the bottled water
company's,(at least in Australia) is because they will not be able to
use that polluting substance in their soft drinks when the carbon cops
crack down, (they would have to be in "500 big polluting companys" in
Australia), according to our watermelons, I love that term, they are the
only ones who will have to pay the carbon tax, to be $23.00 au. a
tonne. They of course will not pass the cost on to their customers, so
we will all be ok. Because the watermelons are going to give back the
billionsof $ to average Joe Bloggs, minus the admin. charges of course.
