Need advice. Building a custom shaped fuel tank (al) that needs lots of welding.
Light gauge al. Do any of you know of someone who could do such without being
hindered by a lot of warpage? I don't see a source list anywhere? I know boat people
do it all the time.----O&N says they use .040 or .050 6061 or 5052H32 (which is
bendable). Of course dead weight is a factor.

They actually do what you want them to do without trying to re-engineer it :)
If you send me a dwg I will take it over there and discuss it with them.
Henry is also going need alloy tank liners for his Long EZ to prevent alcohol damage.

I'm in the middle of building an aluminum gas tank for one of my Kawasaki KZ-650s. IN
this application at least, the ONLY way to do it is by gas welding- a skill I am
working on. This is because the weld area needs to be filed and planished after the
welding. Tig does not hold up to the post welding work that needs to be done to
finish the tank. Tig welding aluminum is fairly easy.
I think that you can have your tank tig welded if there is no working of the aluminum
after it is welded.
