I'm almost done with my phase 1 flight testing, the plane is at the point
where I
just take it out and fly it, no squawks. cooling works fine, but I'll be
making an
air scoop worthy of the rest of the plane now that I've got the
configuration down.
My question is this- what notifications if any do I have to make other than
a
notation in my maintenance logs that I have completed my 40 hours?

Log this ... a SUPERIOR PILOT, EXERCISES SUPERIOR JUDGEMENT, TO NEGATE
THE REQUIREMENT, FOR SUPERIOR ABILITY; dats y i done bilt it maself and no y
it
works proper. Kudos to you Brian. Sometimes when u don't have problems, you
think too much. You may just have got it right first time. Hay shit happens!

Brian,
I am at the stage of tuning my engine to get rid of the
'rough running". Can you give me a list of the parameters you used to get
your motor tuned please. Am awaiting a new chip from tracy, so have not
done any more with my engine other than two starts. I believe it is running
very rich at 10.5 to 11.5. When turning the mixture knob anticlockwise the
engine seemed to run better, but needed to turn the knob another 2 turns !!
Yep will have to go into the set up to lean further. Your experience will
help. Thanks,
Neil in OZ
Neil,
When you get the new chip, you want to ensure that your timing is correct,
and I
assume you have an O2 sensor so you can read your mixture. You already know
that your
injectors all flow correctly? I had mine checked by an injector guy to make
sure mine
were flowing correctly since I rebuilt my engine from a slavage JDM engine.
Go
through the steps that Tracy recommends in his installation and setup guide.
Set the
injector flow rate in Mode 4.
You have Tracy's EM2 right?
Brian Trubee
Brian,
Timing, I have a renesis with the crank angle sensor, so I don't
think I can adjust that, Can I? All injectors are new, (yellow) so will try
leaning first. I have tracy's EM3. That is what requires the new chip.
THanks. Neil.
Mode 8 on the EC2 adjusts the timing- clockwise to advance, counter
clockwise to
retard, it doen't matter how far you move the dial, each push of the program
button
increments about 1.9 degrees if I recall correctly. Do you have the EC2 or
3? If not,
what are you using for controlling the spark and fuel injection?

Brian,
Yep I have the EM3, so will fiddle with that when the chip gets
here. Thanks for the help. Neil.
