Paul thanks for all the great information on the Rotary.  But I have
 a few questions

 1. Does the rotary compare ( if you will ) to a V4, or V6

 2. I have heard the rotary is VERY noisy at the required cruise RPM's.

 3. What about fuel consumption, I hear that compares to a V8

 4. I have heard that the rotary does not really provide lots of torque.

 2. Yes.

 3. Yes and no. The BSFC is about 5% less.

 4. About the same for a given displacement.

 Try getting a bit more specific. :)

 A two rotor engine fires every 180* which is the same as a 4 banger. Thus for
racing it is standard to multiply the Mazda specified displacement by two as
the 4 banger has to go around 2 times to get the displacement of firing on all
4 cylinders one time each. The three rotor is like a 6 cylinder.
