This looks like a nice all alloy motor, made in Oz. The side plates are
$2280 Ozzie dollars.

What does the end housing coolant passages look like?
Has it run? At what power level and for how long?

The rotor housings may be a stock part with a trim from machining. Just for
cosmetics?

That is the expensive way to do it. We had a lot of trouble with bonded in
leaking.
The tig welded in is a lot more reliable. These guys are heavy into drag
racing. A
bit overkill for aircraft.

Sadly it seems that Rohan anbrose AKA xtreme rotaries is now
scaling down his business for whatever reason which is a pity. Brilliant
mechanic on rotaries. He actually did my P porting and set up my motor, but
only now apparently works one day a week for himself. Neil.
Yeah Neil, I saw that he was available only by appointment and that he was
sufffering
under the high Aussie dollar. I agree it is a shame as his products turn up
on
international
sites and are well reguarded, he obviously has design and machining ability.
I do
hope things
improve for his business, if he can hang in there things hopefully will turn
around.

Thoroughly worth a visit to Darren. He is currently
working on a 600HP 3 rotor for some Lancair or whatever. Never even asked
what PSRU he was to use. Today he has a bloke coming to see about a single
rotor. I think he will be very busy. I am in central NSW. Just google
Parkes in NSW, then radio telescope, go a mile NW of there and you have my
strip, then another mile to the west again and you have my house, the one
with the pool. I won;t be in it for a month or two, so it will be OK!!

Do you guys have Detriot Diesel DD15 or Daimler engines in Oz?
Darren might adapt the DD15 turbo compound system to that 600 HP 3 rotor
for lower
fuel burn. If Darren does it I will visit.
Here is a guy in Perth that almost did it but the supercharger exploded
around 1400
HP before he got it installed. He was going to adapt a CW R-3350 TC blow
down turbine.

Lost all contact with Detroit after they went to 4 stroke.
Went to Cummings and now Cat, so unable to help off the top of my head.
Cannot recall seeing any Daimler, or are you referring to Mercedes Benz of
which there are many. Apparently the blokem that wants 600 hp wants to race
it, so fuel burn will be a non event, just so long as it GOES!

In theory turbo compound rotary the most efficient internal combustion engine of all
time. It would make an excellent generator.
Daimler, Detroit, MB all the same international company now. See if there are any 600
HP road train diesels out there with turbo compound. I saw a lot of road trains in
2002 in the out back around Mount Isa.
BTW what does your intake manifold look like. Got any pictures looking down from a
step ladder?
