Some pictures of my install I my Velocity SE. First flight was a month
ago.
Yep, that is a big ol' draggy (and ugly) scoop hanging off the lower cowl,
but it
sure improved cooling. As testing progresses I hope to make it smaller,
prettier,
more aerodynamic and hopefully with much less drag. But, hey, did I
mention
I flew
the thing ;-)

Chris,
If the line feeding the redrive is a hardline, you may want to
consider either bracing it so it can't vibrate or replacing it with
braided SS, or both. It is not a matter of IF, but WHEN it will
break.
Congrats on your lift-off. I'll have to fly down to Houston and see
you one of these days. Or, you're always welcome at Lockhart (50R).
Any chance of you making Charlie's fly-in this Sept?
Mark S.
Mark,
Funny you mention that as I had thought the same thing. That particular
piece was
fabricated/installed by a buddy who was lending a hand way back when.
Changing it out
had occurred to me but since it was working and for a long time so much was
proof of
concept I have yet to do so....however, with your comment, I will be
prompted to have
it done, likely in the next few days while rain is keeping me grounded.
I finally posted as I assumed I would get some feedback....it is
welcome....thanks
Chris
Chris,
One other thing we have learned is to use steel fittings FWF,
especially the small dash 4 AN size.
Since you're flying a pusher, do you refer to the engine side of your
a/c as FWR (firewall rearward)?
Mark S
Could universally refer to it as the "hot side" of the firewall..
