One very stupid question:  can EFI be re-programmed in order to obtain a different
sequence, i.g. one over three instead of one over one ?  Many thanks.  Guido.

All EFI systems can be reprogrammed.

The Mazda dealer updates the software he gets from the Mazda factory.
I don't know what brand of chip they are using. I would need to get an IDE for that
brand of chip and learn how to reprogram it. I would also need the source code for
the software and the Mazda factory does not publish that.

Not something I would be interested in as it is way too complicated for use in an
aircraft. One could spend six months of their lives learning how it works after they
get the source code.
