I am thinking of ordering some of these. They are custom made to some extent.
Price will be around $50 plus a small amount for mailing.
With USB program connector on board.
And a 80 Mhz PIC32MX460F512L.
This is the full memory version of the PIC32.

I expect it will look something like this with USB connector on board

Can be programed in the language compiler of your choice. BASIC (2 brands), Pascal, C
or assembly language. Lots of accessories are available like graphic displays, PC2
keyboards and GPS receivers. Source code and wiring information for these devices is
free. The MikroBASIC is written to support these products. Henry and I will be
working on an EFI version.

The GPS receiver and display shown are extra cost.

Do we need one processor per rotor, or is this a system host? Only one GPS necessary
per installation, I assume.
I'm in with the group, if details are fleshed out.

Depends on the software. There are a lot of options. One per rotor. One per rotar
and main device for display and data recording. One for two or three rotors. One per
rotor would give a back up of sorts. We might be able to put them on a network. I
know they support the Ethernet.
There is plenty of power and storage in these things for a myriad of configurations.
Many would say way overkill but I say they are cheap.
The first one I write will be one per rotor to keep the software simple.
In the mean time get some practice writing QB on your PC. QB was an IDE just like
modern compilers. I know it runs on System 7. If you need it I can send it. We will
share of course.
Come to think of it I already have a moving map program I can easily port.
The DOS display resolution is easily achieved by add on flat panel displays for SC
microcomputers.
